Oswald (Ozzie) G. Paolillo, 98, beloved husband of the later Pauline P. Ciccone Paolillo, of Trumbull passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024. Ozzie was born in Stamford, son of the late Antonio and Marie Tarantola Paolillo and lived most of his life in Bridgeport before moving to Trumbull. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII (1942-1946), U.S. Air Force Reserves (1946-1949), and U.S. Air Force during the Korean War (1949-1951). Ozzie joined the Bridgeport Police Department in 1951 and was promoted to detective in 1966 until his retirement. He served as president of the Police Credit Union, Sheriff’s Department (1980-1983) and as an investigator for the States Attorney’s Office until his retirement in 1990. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 10273 and the Retired Police and Firemen’s Association, Tashua Knolls Golf Club and Tashua Seniors Men’s Club. Survivors include two devoted nephews and niece, John Cunningham and wife Denise of St. Augustine, FL, Nick Ciccone of Monroe and Mary Ann D’Addario and husband Thomas of Shelton and his sister-in-law Adeline McIntosh of Trumbull. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 11:00a.m., in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull with a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Monica’s Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
