Dorothy Hamer Wagner, age 87, died Sunday, November 26, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.  She was born March 5, 1930 in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Clark and Ruth Hamer.  She married Robert Scott Wagner in Ottawa, IL in 1954, living in many parts of the Midwest.  Dorothy retired as a legal secretary. She moved from Janesville, WI to Bridgeport in 2003 after the death of her husband and has lived with her eldest daughter, Christine Toni and her husband Sergio, in Bridgeport.  Dorothy was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles, and carried on voluminous correspondence with many friends and family members across the country.  She enjoyed the Wall Street Journal, sending clippings to all and sundry.  Summers were spent out in the yard with her good friend and neighbor Jerry Brown and with her family in Maine. Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Bob.  She is survived by three daughters: Christine (Serge) Toni of Bridgeport, Julia Wagner of Gearhart, OR and Karen Wagner of Brooklyn, NY.  She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren: Diana, Charlie and Wesley (Katie).
