Henry J. Hoefelt, age 85, of Brideport, beloved husband of the late Laura M. Heinen Hoefelt, passed away peacefully January 19, 2018, surrounded by family at St. Mary’s Hospital Hospice Care, Waterbury.  Henry was born in Tandjong, Sumatra, Indonesia and raised in The Netherlands, son of the late Jacob H.A. and Gudrun Van Brink Hoefelt. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War serving in Germany.  Henry retired in 1997 as shipping agent, director of operations for Norland Star Shipping.  He went on to work for Miller Nissan of Fairfield, enjoyed his daily gym workout and dinners with the guys.  Henry is survived by his loving son, Henry “Big Jim” James Hoefelt and his partner Christine Deal of Waterbury and Jake his canine son.  Friends are invited to visit Saturday, January 27, 1:00 – 3:00p.m., with prayers at 2:00p.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.   Those who desire may contribute to St. Vincent’s Medical Center Swim Across the Sound, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606.
