Joseph D. Silveira, Jr., age 69 of Wakefield, MA passed away peacefully at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Friday, July 14, 2017. He was born to the late Joseph D. Silveira, Sr. and Carmela Silveira (Spero) on March 19, 1948 in Somerville, MA. He worked at First National Bank where he met his late wife Suzanne, his “Angel on Earth,” in the early 70's and were married until her passing last year. Joey had a great sense of humor, was an avid reader and movie buff. Survivors include his sister, Henrietta Perry, his brother John Silveira and fiance' Cristina, a nephew Grant MacCracken and girlfriend Melanie, a niece Erica Ciccone and husband Matt, an aunt Lydia Spero, several cousins and his best friend for a number of years, Jim Swallow and wife Pam. The Silveira family would like to extend their gratitude to Joey's neighbors for their generosity and kindness over the last several years for your help preparing meals, doing yard work and just checking in to say “hello.” Burial will be private and will take place at the convenience of the family.
