Marie D. Marro Garofano, age 87 of Bridgeport passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 in her home, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert D. Garofano. Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of Mariano and Mary Cappola Marro and resided in Bridgeport for most of her life. Marie was a hairdresser for over 60 years last working at Finishing Touch. She was the owner of Marie’s Coiffeurs in Bridgeport.  Her volunteerism was extensive with her church, hospital visits, helping the homeless and providing meals. Survivors include her loving daughters, Linda Wilson and her husband William of Trumbull, Denise Waskewicz and her husband Joseph III of Seymour, five grandchildren Jennifer Wilson, William Wilson and his wife Marie, Michael Wilson and his wife Jennifer, Joseph Waskewicz IV, Trisha Bradley and her husband Frank, three great grandchildren Julia and Lucas Wilson and Logan Bradley, several nieces and nephews and her canine companion Tootsie. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Nicholas and Mario. Her family wishes to thank Christiana Derko for her loving care of Marie. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:15 A.M., from the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 11:00 A.M., in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Bridgeport with a mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds. Friends may call Thursday 4 to 8 P.M., in the funeral home. Those who desire may make a contribution to the charity of their choice in her name.
