Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Nina E. “Betty” Morrow Bakalar, age 89, of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Cambridge Manor. She was the wife of John Bakalar Jr. for 67 years. Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Paul Morrow and Alice Mills Morrow Piascik. Betty was a graduate of Central High School and worked as a secretary for Sprague Meter, Sikorsky Aircraft, and General Electric as well as being a medical receptionist throughout her career. She was a member of the Young at Heart Club at Black Rock Church, and was an avid reader. She will be greatly missed by her family, to whom she faithfully devoted her life, and her husband John will always wish he could give her one more hug. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her two loving sons, Jan Bakalar and his wife Mary of Westmoreland, New Hampshire, and David Bakalar and his wife Joyce of Naugatuck, son in law John Seaman of Stratford, seven grandchildren, Daniel, Jason, Kari, Nicole, Jennifer, Amanda, and Elizabeth, and three great grandchildren, Axel, Ulrik, and Mia. She was predeceased by her precious daughter, Kim Seaman, and dearly loved brothers Allen Morrow and Paul Morrow Jr. Friends are welcome to call Tuesday February 7th from 4-7pm at the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull with a prayer service beginning at 7pm. Friends are also invited to meet at the funeral home on Wednesday February 8th at 10:00 for a procession to her interment in the Connecticut State Veteran’s Cemetery, Middletown.
