Peter P. Pruzinsky, age 92, beloved husband of the late Gloria Schuler Pruzinsky, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in Grandbury, Texas. Peter was born in Bridgeport, son of the late Michael and Mary Servila Pruzinsky and was a lifelong resident. In 1943 he joined the Navy and served as a gunner and aviation mechanic on a maritime patrol plane in the Pacific earning him four medals before his discharge in 1947. After the war he married Gloria, who passed away in 2015 after 67 years of marriage. Peter joined the Bridgeport Fire Department in 1948 and retired in 1985 after 37 years of civil service. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Andrew Church for many years. Retirement years were spent playing golf with friends at Fairchild Wheeler golf course or tinkering with motors. Survivors include three loving sons, Ronald P. Pruzinsky of Mt. Holly, VT, Kenneth S. Pruzinsky and wife Marcia of Grandbury, TX and Gary P. Pruzinsky and wife Judi of Southbury, CT, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six siblings, Joe, Mike, Ed, Frances, Irene and Pauline. Friends may greet his family Monday morning from 9:30am – 10:30am in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 163 Ortega Street, Bridgeport, with a Mass of Christian Burial, (due to work being done at St. Andrew’s) Interment will follow with full Military Honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
