Agatha Cortese Chumak passed away on Friday January 18, 2008 at the age of 69 after a long battle with cancer. She was married to Nicholas Chumak of Stratford for 47 years. Born in Bridgeport on October 7, 1938 she was a graduate of Bassick High School. During her life she worked at Dictaphone, Avco and various law firms in Fairfield as a legal secretary before becoming an officer for XL Roofing Corp. She is survived by her husband Nick, her son Major Justin T. Chumak and his wife Carol of Concord, New Hampshire and four grandchildren, Joshua, Patrick, Samuel, and Nicholas. She is also survived by her sister Nancy and her husband Nick of Newtown. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30am from the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 10:30am in St. James Church, 2110 Main Street, Stratford with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Sunday 3-7pm in the funeral home.
