Agostino Simonetti, age 95, of Trumbull, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria Pappalardo Simonetti for 65 years. Born in Nola in the Naples region of Italy, on June 25, 1929, he was the son of Gennaro and Carmela (Imbroda) Simonetti.

His career in the automotive industry began at the Fiat plant in Torino, Italy and progressed through the years until his retirement at Porsche-Audi in Roslyn New York. Agostino wasalso an avid gardener and winemaker throughout his life. He would often tell great stories and reminisce with friends and family about his challenging childhood experiences and adventures  growing up in Italy during World War II.

Survivors include his loving children, Gennaro Simonetti and his wife Susan, Carmela Simonetti, Paola Simonetti, and Massimo Simonetti and wife Rachel; cherished grandchildren, Robert and Joseph Damiano, Kristen Damiano Tracy, Francesca, and Agostino Simonetti; sisters and brothers, Angelina, Giuseppina, Antoinetta, and Giuseppe; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Anna, Rosetta, and Emilia, and one brother, Mario. Friends may call Monday 11:00 a.m.–12 p.m. in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. Entombment will follow at Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
