Alfred John Pisacane of Fairfield passed away peacefully on April 24 blanketed by the love of his wife and family. Known as Al to his family and friends, he was born in Shelton, on July 5, 1932 to the late Alfred and Angelina (D'Elia) Pisacane. Al was a devoted family man, deeply in love with his wife of 56 years, Dottie (Garofalo). They shared a loving journey that began with a blind date that neither wanted to attend – and by the end of the evening, they both knew they had met their partner for life. They were blessed with two children Cheryl (Rossi) and Alan, who both gave Al the joys that make parenting such a blessing. He grew up in Shelton, where he graduated from high school in 1951. He was an accomplished athlete, All-Valley Football player and Captain of the undefeated 1950 Shelton Football Team. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years, stationed in San Juan, Puerto Rico. After his service, he worked for the Post Office as a Letter Carrier in Norwalk for 36 years. Al was not the kind of person to sit around, so after retiring in 1992, he kept busy as a landscaper with his son Alan. Al lost his beloved daughter Cheryl to cancer 16 years ago, but was strengthened by the never-ending love and support of his son-in-law Rick Rossi and his cherished grandchildren Kristen (Kasparian) and Steven Rossi. He took pride in their accomplishments and would get a special twinkle in his eye when he spoke of them. In addition to Dottie, Alan, Rick, Kristen and Steven, Al is survived by a brother, Frank Pisacane and his wife, Marie; a sister-in-law Catherine (Bootsie) Pisacane, a sister, Norma Guerra, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Cheryl, brothers Salvatore and Daniel Pisacane, sisters Connie Doborwicz and Sue LaRosa, and a brother-in-law Frank Garofalo. Friends may call at Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull on Wednesday April 27 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield at 11:00 AM. The family asks mourners to go directly to the church.
