Alice Langmuir Sweet, age 72 of Fairfield died Sunday, January 27, 2008 in Bridgeport Hospital. She was the beloved wife for 53 years of Waldo N. Sweet Jr. Born in Niagra Falls, NY she resided in Fairfield for more than 40 years. Mrs. Sweet attended Manhattanville College in New York and the University of Grenoble in France. She was a Board member for many organizations including the Mercy Learning Center, the Junior League of Eastern Fairfield County, the House and Garden Club, Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival and Brooklawn Country Club.  Survivors in addition to her husband Waldo, include her loving children, Philip, David, Helen, Bryant and Jane, her sisters, Mary Wright and Honora Koster, sister-in-law Jane S. Stagg, grandchildren, Alexander and Victoria Alice, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Waldo III and her brother Bryant. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00am directly in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenience of her family in Mount Saint Peter's Cemetery, Derby.
