Ann (Nancy) F. Zitnay, age 77, of Newtown, beloved wife of the late Andrew J. Zitnay Jr., died Monday, May 5, 2008, at Danbury Hospital. Mrs. Zitnay was born in Norwalk, daughter of the late Frank and Flora Smith Hartigan and was raised in Westport. She resided for many years in Monroe, before moving to Newtown and had held positions in bookkeeping and accounting. A gifted quilter, sewer and knitter, she also was an avid gardener and a perfectionist when it came to caring for her lawn. In years past she enjoyed league bowling. Nancy was the type of person who always had a smile on her face. She is survived by her devoted children, a son, Scott T. Zitnay and wife Nelly of Newtown and a daughter, Linda Murphy and husband Don of Ridgefield, a sister, Jean Felia of Westport and  was "Mema" to three grandchildren, Libby and Joe Murphy and Ryan Zitnay, also many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. in the Long Hill Burial Grounds, Middlebrooks Avenue, Trumbull. There will be no prior calling hours.
