Dr. Anthony (Tony) S. Fichera, age 82 of Trumbull passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 in his home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Gladys H. McCarthy Fichera. Born on March 15, 1933 in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Mary Fichera. He lived in the North End of Bridgeport and attended Madison and Shelton Grammar Schools. He was a graduate of Fairfield Prep, Class of 1951 and Fairfield University Class of 1955 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He graduated from Georgetown Dental School in 1959. Dr. Fichera practiced at his dental office on Park Avenue in Bridgeport from 1959 to 2007.  He has been a resident of Trumbull since 1970. He was a lifetime member of Delta Sigma Delta Society, the American and Bridgeport Dental Associations, and a past member of Trinacria Mutual Aid Society. Dr. Fichera was also an avid reader. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his wife Gladys, he is survived by his children, Rene' Yankocy and her husband Frederick, Thomas Fichera and his wife Mary Ann, and Denise DiDio and her husband Matthew, and his grandchildren, Alison, Bryan, Dylan, Sean, and Samantha. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11am meeting directly in St. Stephen's Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum, Stratford. There will be no calling hours.
