Anthony Silvestro passed away on January 3, 2024, at the spry age of 92. Born in Bridgeport on Nov 19, 1931, to the late Lillian and Joseph Silvestro, Tony was a lifelong resident of the area eventually settling in Milford.

When he was 16 years old, Tony quit school to join the Army National Guard. He was promptly discharged six days later when they discovered his real age. In spite of his lack of a formal education he was always successful in his many self-employed ventures and investments. Two of his ventures being Atlas Wiping Cloths and Ritchie's Laundry.

Tony's favorite pastimes were enjoying a day at the Casino or a competitive game of cards with family and friends; these were even more enjoyable when he was winning. He loved traveling to the Caribbean, Arizona and Nevada and had a passion for flying, obtaining his pilots' license in 1978. At one time he served as a member of the Civil Air Patrol.

A.J. as he was fondly called by his immediate family is survived by his daughter, Carol Pangburn-Silvestro of Fayetteville, NC, her children Sharra and Gabrielle, and his great grandchildren Jonah, Pilar and Aevry. He is predeceased by his son Anthony Jr, daughter Laura Gambardella and her husband Michael. Being one of seven children, he is survived by his brothers Richard (Beverly), Frank and Joseph Silvestro. He is predeceased by his sisters Doris Butterfield, Julia Fignar and brother Robert.

Friends are invited to join the family in a Memorial of his life on Thursday, August 1st, at the Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and 4 Gorham Place, Trumbull, from 11:00a.m. to 12:30p.m. Memories are precious, and the family would love to have you share your stories of Tony with them.
