Barbara A. Nathenson, age 63 of Bridgeport passed away on August 17, 2007 after a valiant battle with cancer. Barbara was born on April 18, 1944 in Pittsburgh, PA. She moved to Trumbull in 1971 after moves to New York and California. After the struggle of raising two sons by herself, she used that strength to better herself. Barbara went back to school and graduated from Fordham University with a master's degree in social work. She also achieved her CADC and LCSW and spent the rest of her life helping others. Survivors include her two sons, Aaron Nathenson and his wife Tami of Thomaston and Jeffrey Nathenson and his fiance' Indira, her grandson Dylan, all of Bridgeport, her mother and sister, Antoinette and Margaret Vitale of Pittsburgh, PA,  many relatives and friends, and her beloved dog Samantha. Friends may greet her family on Saturday, August 25, 2007 from 3:00pm – 6:00pm in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pan-Can, 2141 Rosecrans Ave. Suite 7000. El Segundo, CA 90245 (payable to Pan-Can).
