Barbara A. van Zyl, age 72, of  Trumbull and Palm Coast, Florida, passed away December 2, 2013 in Bridgeport Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Peter A. van Zyl. Barbara was born December 4, 1940, in Capetown, South Africa, daughter of the late Donald and Maureen Miller Thompson. She was a retired secretary for the Greenwich School System. Survivors in addition to her husband, include three children, Nicola Callahan and husband David, of Fairfield, David van Zyl and wife Lisa of Trumbull and Rodney van Zyl of Charlottesville, Virginia, five grandchildren, Emily, Kevin and Daniel Callahan and Steven and Christian van Zyl. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday (TODAY) at 11:00a.m., in Grace Episcopal Church, 5958 Main Street, Trumbull, with the Rev. David Pople, officiating. Interment will be private.
