It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Betty Fratarcangelo, who departed this life on May 27, 2024. Born in 1937 in Portchester, NY, to Frank and Catherine Rizzo Civitella, Betty was raised in Bridgeport, CT, where she lived for the rest of her life. She was a devoted sister, aunt, and friend to many, and her absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew her.

Betty's faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through both joyous and challenging times. She is survived by her beloved nieces, Judith Brideau and Karen Viores, and her cherished grand nieces, Jessica Sisson, Lauren Brideau, and Noelle Brideau, as well as her grand nephews, Ryan and Colin Viores. Betty was predeceased by her dear sister, Louise Capasso, her brother-in-law Ralph, and her parents.

Betty enjoyed a successful and fulfilling career as a secretary to the public defender of the judicial district of Fairfield at Bridgeport.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Andrew's Church, 395 Anton Street, Bridgeport, CT. Interment will follow immediately after at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Rd., Trumbull.
