Borghild Olsen Rotondo, age 96 of Monroe, beloved wife of the late Ralph Rotondo, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012, in Masonicare at Newtown. Borghild was in Bridgeport, daughter of Thorvald and Nellie Nelsen Olsen. She was the retired manager – bookkeeper for Mohawk Curtain Company, Bridgeport. After retirement she and her husband moved to Lehigh Acres Florida, returning to this area four years ago. Borghild was active in Bridgeport's North End Boys and Girls Club, while raising her family. In Florida she was a member of the United Methodist Church, involved with church activities especially their Meals on Wheels program. She held many positions and was past president of the Home Makers of Florida and a Lehigh Hospital volunteer "Pink Lady", managing the gift shop. Survivors include her devoted daughter Pamela Rotondo of Monroe, a daughter-in-law Mary Rotondo of Huntington, eight grandchildren; James Rotondo and wife Cheryl, R. Thomas Rotondo, Christopher Rotondo and wife Toni, Robert Rotondo and wife Stephanie, David Ferris and wife Patti, Trish Sampieri and husband Vinny, Michelle Marella, and Michael Marella and wife Alison, 20 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her son Ralph Rotondo, Jr. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00a.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
