Cecelia Hague Jones, age 94, loving and devoted mother and a long time Bridgeport resident passed away peacefully on April 26, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband, Carroll E. Jones, Sr. and oldest son, Carroll E. Jones, Jr., two sisters, Mary William and Gertrude Fisher. Survivors include her children, Thomas Jones and wife Patricia of Manchester, Christine Thornbury and husband Leslie of Trumbull, Edward Jones and wife Valerie of Stratford, and Gregory Jones and wife Joanne of Woodbury. Cecelia was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren; Leslie Thornbury, Brian Jones, Sarah Kieran, Emily Thornbury, Christopher Jones, Catherine Allen, and Alexandra Jones, three great grandchildren, Owen Kieran, Liam Kieran, and Preston Allen, two sisters Theresa Weston, and Veronica Lee, and several nieces and nephews. She was born September 23, 1916 in Haydock, England and came to the United States in 1919. Cecelia was an avid parishioner of St. Andrew Church, and was a member of the Rosary Confraternity. She became Sacred Heart University's first employee and worked there for many years as a librarian assistant, and was past president of the P.T.A. at John Winthop. Cecelia enjoyed traveling, reading, and card playing and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 10:00a.m., meeting directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Garden Mausoleum, Stratford. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8p.m. in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
