Charles Goncalves, age 93 of Monroe passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 in his home. He was the beloved husband of Marie Pires Goncalves. Born in Ludlow, MA he was the son of the late Jose and Ricardina Fernandes Goncalves and was a Trumbull resident before moving to Monroe. Mr. Goncalves was a United States Army Veteran serving during World War II. He was a Vice President at Silliman Company for many years and also a General Manager for O & G Industries. In addition to his wife Marie he is survived by his loving sons, Charles Goncalves Jr. and his wife Lynn of Bridgeport and Robert Goncalves and his wife Joan of Stratford, his two grandchildren, Kristen Johansen and her husband Roy, and Robert Goncalves and his wife Audrey, five great grandchildren, Skyler, Avery and Colin Johansen, and Lucie and Charlotte Goncalves.
