Charles Paul Prokop Sr., age 94 of Bridgeport died Sunday, January 20, 2008 in his home. He was the beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth Drank Prokop. Born in Bridgeport, he was a graduate of Harding High School, where he was known as a "triple threat" on the football field. He was active in sports especially track and field, winning medals, and travelling with "the Sokols" competing in meets. Mr. Prokop was a Bridgeport Firefighter retiring after 35 years as Captain. Survivors in addition to his wife include his sons, Charles Paul Prokop Jr. and Marie, Phillip J. Prokop, John Mark Prokop, and Karl Prokop and Barabara Hatch, his daughter Diane Cascella, nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter Marybeth Goodman. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30am in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
