Obituary

In Bridgeport, Connecticut, on April 30, 1921, Constance Veronica was born to Zygmunt and Lottie (Wladslawa Mozelewski) Rutkowski.  Surrounded by her family, Constance joined the risen Lord, on April 17, 2021, just 13 days shy of her 100th birthday.  Many events occurred during her 99 years both personally and in the world around her.  She worked in Remington Arms and was married during WWII to Roger St. Aubin.  Roger was lost at sea when the submarine, the USS Corvina, was torpedoed and sank.  She worked in A. Nosek Furrier at a time when fur was fashionable. In between Connie met and married Peter Jarzynski.  They had three children.  Connie was also employed by Avco Lycoming for several years, and was a Den Mother for a group of Cub Scouts from St. Michael the Archangel Church. But the accomplishment which gave her the greatest measure of wealth and happiness was her family. Connie enjoyed planning, decorating and baking for everything from birthdays, showers and holidays.  She baked cookies with her sister Edna and her pierogi were the best.  An occasional trip to the casino with sisters Irene, Barbara and friends Reggie and Mary brought a lot of laughs.  Saturday night polka dances at Warsaw Park, sewing, crossword puzzles, a challenging game of Scrabble, a Broadway Show and Wheel of Fortune were among some of Connie's entertainment.  Connie was devoted to the Blessed Mother.  Most afternoons she would sit peacefully with rosary in hand and pray with the programs on the television. Connie was predeceased by her husband Peter Jarzynski Sr., brothers and sisters:  Raymond Rutkowski, Sigmund Rutkowski, Edward Rutkowski, Edna Bunovsky and Irene Misencik and son-in-law Frederick Castaldo, Sr. She is survived by her sister Barbara Brinsko and her sister-in-law Florence Wilson.  Her children include Irene Castaldo, Peter Jarzynski (wife Theresa) and Michael Jarzynski (wife Marianne).  Her precious treasures include the following grandchildren:  Frederick Castaldo Jr., Jeffrey Jarzynski (wife Kelly), AD1 (AW/SW) Christopher Jarzynski, USN, Jamie Anne Jarzynski, Julie Anne Jarzynski and great grandchildren Zachery and Mackenzye Jarzynski and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the caregivers who kept her safe and happy.  Abby played Connie's favorite CD's over and over and laughed and sang with her. Izzy kept her hands busy with puzzles and therapy putty. And Cynthia who cheerfully called out "Hello Mrs. J".  Thank you to the Hospice nurses who always complimented Connie and treated her like family. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00a.m., meeting directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Wednesday from 3:00p.m. to 7:00p.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
