David A. McClellan III, age 60, of Shelton, entered into eternal life on Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Yale – New Haven Hospital surrounded by his family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. David was born December 9, 1947, at Bridgeport Hospital, the beloved son of Evelyn (McIntyre) McClellan and the late David A. McClellan Jr. David graduated from Notre Dame High School and was a graduate of St. Thomas Seminary, Bloomfield and he received his B.S. from Southern Connecticut State College. David was a manager for Sikorsky Aircraft. He had a love of boating and was a member of the River End Yacht Club, Shelton. Survivors in addition to his beloved mother, include an uncle, George McIntyre and his wife Irene of Ansonia, a dear cousin, Dorothy Murtha of Naugatuck and several additional cousins. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30am from the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 10:30am in St. Joseph Church, Shelton, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton. Friends may call Friday, 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
