David Scott Szekeres, age 53, died suddenly at home in Sandy Hook, on Sunday, September 4, 2016. He was born in Bridgeport on October 27, 1962 to Louis A. and Shirley Rumble Szekeres. David grew up in Trumbull, attending school there and working most of his adult life for Anthony's Rubbish Removal of Long Hill. He enjoyed raising chickens and gardening. His Boy Scout years taught him many skills. His best friends, Kenny Chatlos and Paul Sarnik, have been his closest friends since grade school. His favorite rock band was Lynyrd Skyyrd. He is survived by his longtime companion Carol Buynak of Sandy Hook, his mother Shirley Szekeres of Pownal, VT, his brothers Rodger Szekeres of Florida, Aaron (Susan) Szekeres of Waterbury, and John Szekeres of Middletown, sisters Adeline (Mark) Hazzard of Terryville, Suzanne (Ray) Meeker of Bridgeport, and Jessica (William) Nitsche of Shelton, nephews Jason (Maria) Szekeres of Derby and Daniel Szekeres of Sacramento, CA, a niece Amy (Xavier) Alvarez of Stratford, an aunt Joan Sondergaard of Richmondville, NY. He was predeceased by his grandparents Louis and Adeline Randall Szekeres and Forrest and Johanne Andersen Rumble, his father Louis A. Szekeres, his uncle Richard Szekeres, and a nephew Kevin Szekeres. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11:00a.m., in the First United Methodist Church of Shelton, 188 Rocky Rest Road, Shelton.
