Demetra Lazaras Gallagher, age 92, of Bridgeport passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at St. Vincent's Medical Center.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband and son, Jack H. Gallagher, Jr. and John H. Gallagher III.  Demetra was born in Washington, DC, daughter of George and Jenny Bougianis Lazaras, raised in New York City and was a long time area resident.  She retired as secretary for Poet Lore of Westport, and prior to Poet Lore she worked as a certified nurses aide. Demetra was a wonderful singer and entertained at numerous senior groups and put on talent shows.  But love for her family came first.  Survivors include her loving and devoted daughter Elizabeth C. Gallagher of Bridgeport, her sister Theresa Klalogridis of Cape Coral, FL, beloved nieces and nephews, Joanna, Burt, Krista, Jonathan and Chloe Calhoun, Donna and Alfred Klimek, Dr. Ana Lavdas, George and Eric Lavdas, three grandchildren Angela Gallagher, Jennifer Napoli and Tye Gallagher, three great grandchildren Morgan, Tyler James and Jack Gallagher, also additional nieces, nephews and a special friend Terri Dodek. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, at 11:00a.m., meeting directly in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604 with the Rev. Fr. Georgios Livaditis, Presbyter, officiating.  Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery of Easton.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
