Doris F. Johnson, age 85, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Gordon V. Johnson, passed away Wednesday August 29, 2012, in her home. She was born August 31, 1926 to the late John and Adele Harries Hinck. Doris was raised in Trumbull and a lifelong member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She was very active in her church; she taught Sunday school, served on the Altar Guild and enjoyed bowling with the church league. She was formerly a member of the P.T.A., when her children were attending Trumbull schools. In addition to her husband of 63 years, she is survived by her loving son and two daughters; Gordon J. Johnson and wife Susan of Newtown, Barbara J. Matey and husband Lloyd of Oxford and Nancy A. Goldstein and husband Stuart of Dunbarton, NH, a brother; William Collins and wife Anita of FL, nine grandchildren; Michael, Gordon and Kindra Johnson, Jesse and Matthew Matey, Rebekah, Rachel, Molly and Stuart Goldstein and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters; Adele Sperka and Mary Krivensky. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m., meeting directly in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 5995 Main Street, Trumbull, with the Rev. Emil Witschy, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds. Friends may call Friday, 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
