Dorothy A. Evans, age 83 of Fairfield passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023 in her home. Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of George and Dorothy Evans. She served as the assistant tax collector for the Town of Fairfield. She enjoyed volunteering at Cambridge Manor and Davita Health Care.  Dorothy will be remembered as a kind and caring woman, who loved being with her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling and being outdoors. She had an energetic personality that was infectious to all. She is survived by her son, William E. Timko, and his wife, Dawn of Shelton, daughters, Lisa Toth, and her partner, Richard Rollinson of Shelton, and Deborah Tomis and her husband, Matthew of Fairfield, brother, William Evans of Florida, her aunt, Florence Catone of Fairfield, six grandchildren, John, Heather, Brittany, Victoria, Rachel, and Nicholas, two great grandchildren, Cillian and Declan, her nieces and nephew Tracy Evans, Edward J. Evans, and Michelle Evans, and her companion for 18 years, Gary Bennett of Monroe. She was predeceased by her brothers, John and Edward. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 5 at 11:00a.m., in Holy Family Church, Fairfield with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may greet the family Friday morning from 8:30a.m., to 10:15a.m., in the Redgate - Hennessey Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place Trumbull.
