Dorothy A. Banas Kenney, age 96 of Trumbull passed away on Good Friday, April 7, 2023 in her home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert O. Kenney and mother of the late Robert "Rusty" Kenney Jr. Born in Bridgeport, she was a graduate of Bassick High School and St. Vincent's School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Vincent's Medical Center and later retired from 3030 Park Healthcare. She is survived by her sons, Michael Kenney and Kevin Kenney and his wife Susanne, and daughter, Caroline Ruddy and her husband Thomas, all of Trumbull, four grandchildren, Megan, Erin, Jacob and Alyssa, sister-in-law, Joni Banas, nieces and nephews, Maureen Eddy, James Kenney, Linda Sanchez, David and Richard Banas. She was also predeceased by her brother, James. Dorothy loved being with her family and happily joined her children as they gathered weekly during football season to cheer on the JETS.  She loved the outdoors, taking care of her plants, and spending multiple hours in her yard.  Birdwatching was one of her favorite pastimes, spending hours watching them out her kitchen and living room windows. A special thank you to Arlene Tote and Marilyn Anton for their loving care.  Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00am in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call Thursday morning 8:30 – 10:30am in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
