Dorothy Gerathy Kundert, age 88 of Trumbull passed away peacefully February 7, 2009 in her home with her family by her side. Dorothy was the beloved wife of Milton W. Kundert for 66 years. Born in Cos Cob, she had been a Trumbull resident for 59 years. She worked at Seal Rite Aluminum and Remington Rand for many years. She finished her working career as a Woolworth employee. Milton says of his wife, "She was my sweetie deetie. She was my right arm. She was my best friend. She taught Sunday school for many years. She was kind and generous. She loved to dance, cook, whistle, garden and sew. She loved to have company in our home. We were inseparable for 66 years and now, words cannot express the loss I feel. My heart is broken…." Survivors in addition to her husband include her son, Jerry Kundert of Trumbull, daughter Judy Nighland of New Jersey, brothers, E. Carroll, Donald, and George Gerathy, granddaughter Robin Holman, great grandchildren Max and Sonny Holman and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Marjorie Casey and brothers, Pierce, Joseph and Jerry. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Long Hill United Methodist Church, 6358 Main Street, Trumbull. A social hour at the church will follow the service. Interment will be private at the convenience of her family in Park Cemetery in Bridgeport the first week in March.
