Dorothy E. Mandeville, age 79, of Trumbull, died Sunday, November 2, 2008, at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Dorothy was born in New York City, daughter of the late Charles O. and Amelia Pfodenhauer Nelson. She moved to Connecticut in 1955, living in Newtown from 1971 – 1998, at which time she became a Trumbull resident. Dorothy was a retired administrative assistant for Ethan Allen Corp, and a charter member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. She is survived by three beloved daughters, Doreen Mandeville of Orange, Denise McQuade and husband Kevin of Trumbull and Dale Spencer and husband Paul of Ballyboughal, Ireland, four grandchildren, Ryan and Connor McQuade and Dara and Ciara Spencer. Also very special cousins Audrey & Todd Bien, Joan Seisz & family. Dorothy was predeceased by her fiancé, Raymond Gabbianelli who deeply loved her.  Dorothy loved to travel, visit & talk with family/friends. After going to Ireland 22 times she called herself a commuter not a visitor. She had a love of family, spirit, kindness, sense of humor & will be deeply, deeply missed by all. The family would like to thank her extended family of St. Vincent's Hospital. Over the years & recently, the warm, kind and compassionate people including the Infusion Staff- especially Katherine, OR/PACU/ASC staff and Anesthesia-especially Pam Conrad, Anthy Demestihas MD, Mark Wilchinsky MD, & MICU staff at the end. We love you Mom, more than you will ever know and we will miss you forever. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 11:00am, in the Christ the King Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Gregory J. Wismar, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, New York. Friends may call Thursday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00am in the Church.
