Dorothy M. Nagy, age 92 of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Julius Nagy, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010 at Cambridge Manor. Dorothy was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late George and Helma Nelson Verrelle. After raising a family, she went on to receive a B.S. from Southern Connecticut State College in 1961 and her Masters from the University of Bridgeport in 1966. She retired from the Bridgeport School System, where she taught children with special needs and Dorothy's daughter followed in her foot steps with her own teaching career. She was a past president of the Lake Forest Association and a member of the Bridgeport Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed cooking and keeping a sparkling home. Survivors include a son, Jerry G. Nagy and wife, Sally of Bridgeport; a daughter, Sharon Leeney of Southport; a sister, Mildred VanSack of Long Island; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great- granddaughter; one nephew; and four grand-nieces and nephews. Friends may attend graveside services Tuesday at 11 a.m., in Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Ave., Bridgeport. There will be no prior calling hours.
