Dorothy Mary Plavnicky, age 92 of Monroe, beloved wife of the late John J. Plavnicky, passed away peacefully Friday, February 26, 2016 in her home surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Edward Martin and Magrada Hansen Quinlan and was a lifelong area resident. Survivors include three devoted children and their spouses David J. Plavnicky and Peggy of Houston, TX, Jack C. Plavnicky and Diane of Monroe and Judith A. Catropa and Ferdie of Monroe, five grandchildren Adam Catropa and wife Karen, Thomas Catropa and wife Jessica, Christopher Catropa and wife Ashley, John Tyler Plavnicky and Jacqueline Plavnicky, two great grandchildren Andrew and Nicholas Catropa, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:00a.m., meeting directly in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, with a Mass of Christian Burial.
