Doxie Andrews Scinto, age 94, beloved wife of the late Daniel Michael Scinto passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield. Born July 27 1918 in Bridgeport CT she was the daughter of John and Mary Andrews. She is survived by two sons Robert D. Scinto (wife Barbara) and Daniel J. Scinto (wife Francine), seven grandchildren Dana Colangelo, Amy Corselli, Kate Scinto, Robert Scinto, Daniel Scinto Madeleine Scinto and Stephan Scinto, eight great grandchildren, and her sister, Star Holda. Doxie will be remembered as a wonderful wife and mother who loved to cook Greek food and host Sunday family dinners. She had a strong presence in the Greek/Romanian community and enjoyed playing pinochle.  A true zest for life and a witty personality, Doxie was always making everyone around her laugh and smile. Her family would like to thank the staff at the Jewish Home for the Elderly for the wonderful care Doxie received this last year. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00am meeting directly in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove of Easton Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 4-8pm in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
