Edna Zrallack, age 79, of 167 Fairview Avenue, Bridgeport died on August 9, 2026 at St. Vincent’s Hospital after a long illness. Born in Bridgeport on December 13, 1946, to the late Joseph and Helen Bavedas Balinski, where sheremained a lifelong resident. Edna retired from Ophthalmology Associates in Fairfield.

Edna was a devout dog lover and owner, many of which were rescued from shelters. She was a strong supporter of the Bridgeport Animal Shelter, the Connecticut Humane Society, the Vernon A Tait All Animal Adoption and Shelter Alliance and Resources For Animals with Handicaps.

In addition to her parents, Edna was predeceased by her husband William Zrallack and sister Irene Barnes. She is survived by a brother-in-law Robert Barnes, a sister-in-law Loretta Zrallack Laput (Joseph), three nephews, two great nieces, three great nephews, one great grand niece and four great grand nephews.

Edna was extremely appreciative of all the support she received over the years and was especially thankful to Mike Lewis, Pete Paul, Don Carpenter, Reva Goggins and DarleneMetcalf for their friendship and care.

A private remembrance service will be held at a later date. Internment will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield, Connecticut.
