Eileen Walsh Colihan, passed away peacefully, April 3, 2011 at her home in Emeritus in Woodbridge at the age of 90, surrounded, as she was in life, by her devoted family. She was the daughter of William J. and Ellen Cody Walsh, originally from County Waterford, Ireland. Eileen grew up in Bridgeport and was a proud 1939 graduate of Central High School, where she was Class Secretary for several years and a state typing champion. She lived and raised her family in Fairfield for many years before moving to Woodbridge. She loved the local beaches and was an active member of Our Lady of Assumption Parish. She was also a long-time employee in the Fairfield Tax Collector's office before retiring in 1993. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John C. Colihan, who died in 1966, her son William J. Colihan in 1998, her sisters Mary W. Wieler, Nora W. Bohan and Theresa Walsh and her brother James Walsh. Survivors include her sister Rita E. Walsh of Hamden; a daughter Leah F. Colihan and husband John T. Grillo of Woodbridge; grandson Christopher Colihan-Grillo of Washington, DC; a son James C. Colihan and wife Jane Colihan of Wilton, and grandchildren Katherine Colihan of New York City, Leigh, John and Jimmy of Wilton; a daughter Mary Ann Colihan and husband Dr. Paul Adams and grandsons Colin, Jamie and Hayden Adams, all of London, Ontario, Canada; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Viglione and her family. Other survivors include a niece and nephews: John Bohan of Fairfield, Nora Bohan Giovati of Old Greenwich and Jerry Bohan of New Hartford, and their families. A private Mass of Christian Burial was held in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Fairfield, followed by interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.
