Eileen Mary Fredericks, a longtime Stratford resident and career educator, died Friday, Dec. 9, at the age of 75.

She was born Dec. 14, 1946 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Robert and Marie (Duggan) Fredericks.

Eileen graduated from St. Charles School, Notre Dame High School and Albertus Magnus College. She later earned a master's degree from Fairfield University.

Eileen began her career as a teacher in the Stratford public school system. She later taught at J.M. Wright Technical School in Stamford and retired as the director of Emmett O'Brien Regional Vocational-Technical School in Derby.

Eileen was a kind and caring person who had a great love for music, was a lifelong learner and avid reader and enjoyed traveling with her cousins and friends. She sang for many years in the choirs at St. Jude's Church in Derby and later at Our Lady of the Assumption in Woodbridge. She was always up for a trip whether it was a jazz festival in New Orleans, a B&B in Vermont or grabbing a hot dog at Duchess.

Eileen is survived by a son, Jeremy Beker, and his wife Tiffany, of Williamsburg, Va.; a brother, Robert Fredericks and his wife Meredith, of Bridgeport; a niece and goddaughter Katherine Fredericks; and a nephew Robert Fredericks.

She is also survived by her cousins from the extended Fredericks and Duggan families and many thoughtful friends.
