Eileen Caldwell Gunther of Trumbull wife of the late Carl H. Gunther died Saturday, October 24, 2009 in her home. Born in Waterbury, she was the daughter of the late William and Ella Burke Caldwell and had been a Trumbull resident for 68 years. Survivors include her son Frederick W. Gunther and his wife Christina of Trumbull, three daughters Carleen G. Kunkel and her husband Peter of Trumbull, Gwen G. Summ and her husband Jack of Trumbull, and Catherine G. Smith and her husband James of Louisville, KY, 14 grandchildren, Hans Kunkel, Jared Kunkel, Sara Caldwell, Elizabeth Martin, John Summ, Kathleen Brooks, Matthew Summ, J. Fitzpatrick Smith, Emily Norris, Meghan Campioni, Troy Gunther, Brooke Gunther, Sophia Gunther, and Deanna Gunther, 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her brothers, William, Edward, and James Caldwell. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:00am meeting directly at St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Monday 4-8pm in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
