Elaine Clare Douglass, age 89, of Milford, died Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Milford Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Salvatore and Annette Aucella Rainone. She was a retired human resources executive, working for Envipco in Naugatuck, CT for 28 years.
Elaine's greatest joy was her family. She loved bringing everyone together around her table for Sunday Dinners and creating lasting memories with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She especially treasured annual family beach vacations to Rhode Island and the Jersey Shore, where generations gathered to laugh, relax, and enjoy time together. Elaine was always first in line to welcome every new grandchild and great-grandchild into the family, eager to hold each baby and shower them with love. An avid sports fan, she was a devoted supporter of the UConn Women's Basketball team and also enjoyed cheering for the Giants, Yankees, and Knicks. She played tennis for many years and remained a fan of the sport throughout her life.
Survivors include her loving children, Jeffrey Douglass, Kelley Douglass and her husband, David Schweitzer, Kevin Douglass and his wife, Catherine, and Rick Douglass and his wife Faith; her brother, Salvatore Rainone and wife Joan; beloved niece Donna and nephew Jay; 13 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00am at St. James Church, 2070 Main Street, Stratford, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Friends may greet the family from 10:00am -10:45am in the church.
