Obituary

Eleanor (Sis) MacKenzie Healy, age 90, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Frank A. Healy Jr., died Monday April 13, 2009, at Bridgeport Hospital. Mrs. Healy was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late William and Marion Hopkins MacKenzie and lived most of her life in Fairfield. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Skidmore College. Mrs. Healy was a life member of St. John Episcopal Church, Bridgeport and served numerous years with the alter guild. She was an involved member of the Bridgeport Ladies Charitable Society, Meals on Wheels, Garden Club of Greater Bridgeport and formerly the Brooklawn Country Club. She loved caring for her flower gardens, while her husband Frank enjoyed his vegetable gardening. She was predeceased by a son, William Gregory Healy and is survived by two devoted sons, Frank A. Healy III and wife Pamela of Easton and James M. Healy and wife Joan of Fairfield, a sister,  Ruth Helsher of West Hartford, four grandchildren, Chip Healy and wife Jenn of Meridian, ID, Jason Healy and wife Amy of Great Fall, VA, Rebecca Guiditta and husband Jason of Oxford and Sarah Healy and her fiancé Carl Hesler of Brooklyn, NY, five great grandchildren, Holly Guiditta, Liam, Tarynn, Caroline and Ryan Healy, two stepgrandsons, Burtch Drake of Littleton, CO and Fred Drake of Ketchican, AK; also a niece and a nephew. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service Friday, at 2:00 p.m. in St. John Episcopal Church, 768 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, with Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Hahneman, Rector, officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to St. John Episcopal Church or the Ladies Charitable Society, Bridgeport Ladies Charitable Society, c/o People's Bank Trust Department, 850 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06604.
