Eleanor "Ellie" Chernak Laubscher, age 84 of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Raymond L. Laubscher, was granted her angel wings  Friday, December 9, 2011 in her home. Ellie was born in Czechoslovakia, daughter of the late John and Susanna Chernak and was a long time resident of Bridgeport. She was a retired secretary for the General Electric Company and Avco Lycoming Textron. Ellie was a member of the Trumbull VFW Post # 10059 ladies auxiliary, Trumbull Women's Club, and enjoyed bowling and bingo. Survivors include her devoted daughters; Carol Mavilla and husband Rosario of Shelton, Arleen Meyer of Wisconsin, and Karen Laubscher and dear friend Angie Wilson both of Stratford, five grandchildren; Peter, Nicholas, Samantha, Raymond, and Olivia. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her brother John Chernak. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. meeting directly in Salem Lutheran Church, 3160 Park Avenue, Bridgeport. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
