Elena Ciccone Cunningham, age 78, beloved mother of John Cunningham Jr., died Tuesday, April 9, 2008, at Community Hospice, Jacksonville, Florida. Elena was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Nicholas and Celeste Trotta Ciccone and had been a lifelong resident before moving to St. Augustine, Florida. She was retired from retail sales, having worked for many years at Skydel's and Marshall's. In addition to her son John and his wife Denise of St. Augustine, Florida, she is survived by four sisters, Pauline Paolillo, Adeline McIntosh and Elizabeth Christiano, all of Trumbull and Ida Farese of Danville, California, a nephew, Nicholas Ciccone, two nieces, Mary Ann D'Addario and Evelyn Ciccone, a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Ciccone and a brother-in-law, Bernard Zenobia. She was predeceased by a brother and sister, Frank Ciccone and Mary Zenobia. Funeral services will be held Monday, at 10:15 am., from the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 11:00 am.in St. Theresa Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial.
