Elizabeth (Betty) Hunter Moss Potts, age 93, beloved wife of the late Sid Potts, passed away peacefully December 8, 2014, at Ludlowe Health Care, Fairfield. Betty was born in Gateshead, England, daughter of James and Nora Moss. Betty and Sid came to this country January 9, 1947 sailing over on the Queen Elizabeth and lived in Bridgeport and Asbury Ridge, Shelton for many years before moving to Sandy Hook to live with their devoted daughter. Betty retired from the toy department at Caldor's in Fairfield. She loved to knit and was a fantastic baker, family and friends enjoyed both. Betty is survived by two sons, Robert J. Potts and wife Karen of Huntington and Ian C. Potts of Bridgeport, her daughter Helene E. Cote and husband Daniel of Sandy Hook, daughter-in-law Debbie Potts of Naugatuck, former daughter-in-law Martha Potts of Fairfield, six grandchildren, Stephanie, April, Kay and Sara Potts, Ian Potts II her only grandson whom she adored and Taylor Cote, one great granddaughter Ashley Potts and a sister Margaret (Peggy) Faulkner, who at age 97 is of Worcester, England. In addition to her late husband of 62 years, Betty was predeceased by her infant daughter Margaret, a son Allan Potts, a daughter-in-law Michelle Smith Potts, and a sister Joyce Thomas. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00a.m., in Calvary St. George's Episcopal Church, 755 Clinton Ave, Bridgeport, with the Rev. Dr. David Norris, officiating.
