Elizabeth A. “Betsy” Bown Wilemski, age 84 of Fairfield died Wednesday, January 28, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerard D. Wilemski and mother of the late Christopher G. Wilemski. Betsy was the daughter of Alfred A. Bown and Josephine Cooney Bown and was born along with her twin brother Bobby at St. Vincent’s Hospital on December 31, 1941. Betsy graduated from Andrew Warde High School in 1959 and Good Counsel College in White Plains, New York in 1963. Betsy was a longtime teacher at Our Lady of the Assumption School and lifelong parishioner of the Church. She is survived by her children, Mike Wilemski and his wife Patti of Venice, FL, Sarah Wilemski of Bridgeport, Matthew Wilemski of Seattle, WA, grandchildren, Kevin, Brendan and Amy Wilemski, her sister, Helen Bown Dailey, brothers, Alfred J. Bown and Robert T. Bown, many nieces and nephews and Cassi, Christopher’s widow. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7th at 10:00a.m., meeting directly in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 – 7:00p.m., in the Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
