Ernest Russell, age 87, a lifelong Bridgeport resident, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at St. Vincent's Medical Center. He was the beloved husband for 62 years of the late Lucille C. VanDorn Russell. Ernest served proudly with the U.S. Army during World War II and was the retired owner of Russell Television Sales and Service. He was a devoted and active life member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Bridgeport. Survivors include his loving children, son Mark V.D. Russell and wife Cynthia of Ridge, NY and Debra L. Marks and husband Gary of Bethel, five grandchildren, Adam R. Marks and wife Kate, Jonathan E. Marks and wife Renee, Lynsie K. Marks, Laura E. Russell and Katherine C. Russell, three great grandchildren, Ryan Marks, Hunter Summers and Skylar Summers and three nieces. He was predeceased by his sister, Gertrude Chamberlain of Bridgeport. Friends may call Wednesday (TODAY) 3:00 – 6:00 pm., at the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, a prayer service will be conducted at 5:00 pm., with the Rev. Benjamin Loos, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be private in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middletown.
