Ernie Hailey, age 85 of West Haven passed away Wednesday, January31, 2018. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of Henry and Lola Mary Rucker Hailey and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Hailey was a foreman and supervisor at Mobil Chemical and previously Bridgeport Brass. Survivors include his beautiful children, Jerome C. Hailey of Georgia, Lola Mary Hailey-Kendricks of West Haven, Tracie Hailey of Bridgeport, Sheila Hailey Icart of Bridgeport and Sean Michael Hailey of Massachusetts, their late mother Marjorie Elaine Manson Hailey, his sisters Rosalie Hatcher of Maryland, and Irene Ellis of Bridgeport and many grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son Ernie, and two brothers Henry Hailey, Jr, and Louis Hailey. Visitation will be held Friday, February 9, 2018, beginning at 9:00a.m., in Messiah Baptist Church, 210 Congress Street, Bridgeport, CT 06604, and a funeral service will follow from 10:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. Interment will be private.
