Estelle R. Socha De Julio, age 92, beloved wife of the late Richard L. De Julio, passed away Tuesday May 13, 2014, at St. Joseph's Manor, Trumbull. Estelle was born in Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Churko Socha and lived most of her life in Bridgeport. She served as a Bridgeport Police Commissioner; member of the Women's Democratic League and was an Honorary Ringmaster for the Barnum Festival. She worked for Avco Lycoming before leaving to raise her family. Survivors include her beloved children, three sons Richard F. De Julio and wife Lorraine of Newtown, Thomas De Julio and wife Lauren of Farmington, New Hampshire, Alphonse A. De Julio of Stratford, two daughters Elisa Meeker and husband Raymond of Beacons Falls and Sharon Belinski (and her late husband George) of Seffner, Florida, a brother Paul Bereza of Stratford, two sisters Clara Behemke of Stratford and Rose O'Brien of Bridgeport, nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Anita Hyland and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:45 am. from the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 10:30 am in St. James Church, Stratford, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9:00 am.
