Obituary

Evelyn Russell Hessels, age 79, beloved wife of the late Warren (Hess) Hessels passed away suddenly at home on Monday, August 13, 2012. She was born in Montville, CT November 19, 1932, oldest child of the late Ruth and Charles Russell Sr. Evelyn was the office manager for Ray Pacific's Men's clothing store in Trumbull until her 28 year retirement. After graduating from Commercial High School in New Haven in 1950, she was a book keeper/teller at Tradesmen's National Bank for 8 years. She was an assistant Cub Scout den mother/Brownie leader, hot lunch mother volunteer and children's reader at North Stratfield Elementary School. NYC bus trips/dining at Carmine's/ broadway plays were at the top of her list, organized by her dear friend Gerrie Reis. Playing cards at family picnics, lunches with life-long friends; Joe & Gerrie Reis and Eileen & George Albinger, and her best neighborhood friend Mary Coscia were a couple of her pastimes. Evelyn was a diehard Red Sox/Jets/Jeff Gordon Nascar fan. Nothing though, was more important than the mandatory viewing of WWE Monday Night Raw & Friday Night Smackdown. She was a lover of daytime soaps, feeding/viewing her finches, and gardening. Evelyn's iron fist of cleanliness and organization was second to none. Survivors include: her son/best friend/caregiver Mark Hessels, his daughters/her granddaughters Keri and Christina Hessels, great grandson Maximus (Max), daughter Lori Hessels Boroski and her husband Alexander, their son/her grandson Ronald Boroski; her sisters and brother-in-laws: Alice (Midge) Atwood and her husband, Burton; Anice Bastien and her husband Albert; her brother and sister-in-law Charles Russell Jr. and his wife Janet and several nieces and nephews.
