Frederick E. Hoyt Jr., age 83 of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Joan Neubauer Hoyt, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Hewitt Health & Rehab. Frederick was born in Bridgeport, son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Velky Hoyt, and was a lifelong area resident. He retired as an electrician with Local Union 488 IBEW and was a United States Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean War. Frederick was a member of the America-St John's Masonic Lodge #8, Stratford, a choir member of both the Harugari German Club, West Haven and Arbeiter Manner German Club, New Haven. He was a former member of the Port 5 Naval Veterans. Survivors in addition to his wife include his devoted sons Robert F. Hoyt and wife Mary, Richard S. Hoyt and wife Dianna, David E. Hoyt and wife Ann, and Scott A. Hoyt and wife Adrienne, twelve cherished grandchildren and one great grandchild, two sisters Peggy Lesko and Connie Higgins. He was predeceased by his sister Jean McNally. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 6p.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, with the Most Reverend Rocco Florenza, Bishop of the Anglican Church of the Resurrection, officiating.
