George Edward Battistelli Jr. age 75, a resident of Shelton for 47 years passed away on April 22, 2026, with his family by his side. He was the son of the late George Edward Battistelli, Sr. and Gloria Mary Battistelli of Trumbull. George was predeceased by his brother Louis George Battistelli. George is survived by his son, Brian George Battistelli and wife Patrycja, of Derby and his grandson Dominick Wesli Battistelli. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia F. Battistelli and special friend Kenneth Jay Cardinal of Trumbull and a niece Kristen Battistelli. George grew up in Trumbull and was a graduate of Trumbull High School, and Southern Connecticut State University with a degree in teaching, specializing in high school history and English. George started his career in the insurance industry and then he was associated with the steel industry for many years. George started playing the piano at age 5 and was an accomplished piano player and performed locally in his earlier years. He loved playing classical music as well as current favorites. He will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, son and brother. He always put his family first and watched out for everyone in his family. He will be remembered for his quick wit and his ability to make everyone laugh. The family would like to send a special thank you to Anthony and the staff at Gardner Heights in Shelton, who have taken exceptional care of George. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00a.m., meeting directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m., in the Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and 4 Gorham Place, Trumbull.
