Obituary

George T Dresser, age 92 of Trumbull, Ct., passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield, Ct. George was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Marian Francis Pratt Dresser, on January 18, 2004. He was also predeceased by a brother, Bob and a sister, Mary. George was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. George attended Bentley College, and worked in accounting and finance for General Electric throughout a working career that ended with his retirement in 1984. Throughout his life, George was a very active participant in the Methodist Church. During his 50 years as a Trumbull resident, the Long Hill Methodist Church was a very important part of his life. George was also a very active participant in General Electric groups such as the Elfun Society and the Quarter Century Club. George was a loving and supportive father and grandfather. He will be missed by his entire family. George is survived by his daughter, Carol A. Dresser, of Plymouth, Ct; his son, Dr. John D. Dresser and his wife, Virginia, of Hanover, NH; as well as two granddaughters, Sarah E. Dresser, of Hanover, NH, and Laura A. Dresser, of San Francisco, Ca. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. George's family would like to thank the Long Hill Methodist Church membership for their caring support. We'd also like to thank George's wonderful neighbors in the Samuel St. neighborhood for the goodwill and kind gestures that they made towards George and Marian during their time on Samuel St. Finally, we'd like to thank the wonderful staff at the Jewish Home for the Elderly for the fantastic care that George received during his stay there. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial service on Monday, January 19, 2014 at 11:30am at Long Hill United Methodist Church, 6358 Main Street, Trumbull.
